UWE World Heavyweight Championship
Main Event: E.E. Faulk vs Angelus

Match Writer: Greenbean

"Fortune, fame, mirror vain
Gone insane...
BUT THE MEMORY REMAINS!"

*BOOM!* A huge pyro fires up from the stage as "The memory Remains" continues playing.  As the smoke from the pyro clears, Angelus is left standing in the middle of the stage staring straight down at his opponent.  There's a sudden chill that sweeps through the crowd as Angelus takes one good, long look around the arena.

"Heavy rings on fingers wave
Another star denies the grave
See the nowhere crowd cry the nowhere tears of honor"

Schumacher: The following contest is scheduled for one fall and is for the UWE World Heavyweight Championship!  From Las Vegas, Nevada!  Weighing in at 225 pounds!  He is UWE's first and only Grand Slam Champion!  ANNNNnnnnnNNNNGELLLLLLUSSSSss!

"Like twisted vines that grow
Hide and swallow mansions whole
And dim the light of an already faded prima donna"

Angelus makes his way down the ramp, highfiving the occasional fan who holds their arm out desperately to touch him.  Some fans can be heard cheering his name at the top of their lungs, others have not forgotten his past deeds and refuse to cheer him.  Angelus' eyes say it all though.  He's not here for them.  Angelus slides in on the apron and pops up, immediately look over to his opponent and pointing to them, telling them tonight they're gonna just another fallen victim.  He then turns around and runs to the turnbuckle, jumping up to the top rope and pointing around the arena, then back to himself.  Angelus jumps off and turns to his opponent, loosening up a little before the match begins.

Fortune, fame, mirror vain, gone insane
Fortune, fame, mirror vain, gone insane
But the memory remains

A lit fuse appears on the Titantron, with its hiss being the only sound in the arena. The fuse runs out at the bottom of the screen and BOOM! The stage erupts with fiery, explosive pyro.

Schumacher: And from New York City, New York, weighing in at one hundred and sixty five pounds, he is the UWE World Heavyweight Champion…E.E. Faulk!

Through the smoke arrives E. E. Faulk, as the song "Path" by Apocalyptica plays him to the ring.

The match begins with the two men walking into the middle of the ring together, looking eye to eye, knowing that to acquire the symbol of excellence in Professional Wrestling one man stands infront of them. The staredown is intense, the atmosphere is even more so and the bell sounds, this one is underway! Faulk and Angelus back up a few steps and begin to walk around the ring in circles, figuring each other out as neither man breaks eye contact with the other. Eventually the two men collide in the middle of the ring, both locking up with a collar-and-elbow to start this one off. Angelus is the stronger of the two and this shows as he’s able to use his strength in order to back Faulk up into the corner of the ring, until the ref gets involved, calling for a break. Both men, perhaps surprisingly adhere to the ref’s orders and break from one another, but Faulk fakes to swing a right hand at Angelus, causing Angelus to cover his face in order to protect himself from what he thinks is a cheap shot, but its just Faulk playing a little mind games in the early going here as he stands in the corner, smiling at Angelus, who gives a little smirk back, but Angelus’ is of sarcasm if anything else and now Angelus chooses his moment to strike as he begins to unload on Faulk with knife-edge chop after knife-edge chop, lighting up the World Champion until suddenly Faulk snaps and reverses it so Angelus is now in the corner, with Faulk going crazy with knife-edge chops of his own, he’s really going to town on Angelus who can do nothing to protect himself and finally Faulk shows a little mercy, or perhaps he’s just tired from chopping so much that he backs up a little into the middle of the ring, his hand is sore from the amount of chops, but that’s nothing compared to the redness of the number one contender’s chest. Angelus tenses his chest up and tries his best to block out the pain, embarrassed he comes charging at Faulk, who read him well and executes a drop toehold to his foe, the champ remains one step ahead and although that move did sting Angelus, he’s feeling more embarrassed than anything as he sits up in the corner, thinking about his next line of attack as Faulk stands opposite him, encouraging him to “come on”. Angelus brings himself to his feet, looking at Faulk as he slowly comes towards the champion, offering him a test of strength, which Faulk accepts. Angelus and Faulk lock fingers with one hand each, then the second hand of both guys lock, but no sooner do they lock and then Angelus shows his true colours but kicking Faulk in the gut, gaining what some might say an unfair advantage, but he’d say its just intelligence. Angelus has the clear advantage now in the test of strength and it isn’t long before he has Faulk on both his knees, standing over the top of him, bending his fingers as far back as he possibly can, Faulk’s fingers seem moments away from snapping here and the pain etched across his face shows that although this is simple, is so effective. Angelus now uses all his strength to push Faulk further back, until Faulk’s shoulders are pinned to the floor, with Angelus pushing him into the mat, the ref has to count here, Faulk’s in trouble…

Kickout! Faulk manages to show ridiculous flexibility in pulling himself up off the mat, under so much pressure because if he didn’t do that, he’d have lost the championship. Faulk uses all his experience and flexibility to pull himself up to his feet so that he and Angelus are both vertical, and both still locked together by the fingers. Faulk now jumps into the air, putting his feet on the knees of Angelus and does a modified monkey flip on him, as both men are lay on their backs, but amazingly still bound by their hands, neither man is giving up what they’d consider to be their advantage and here’s where the term “Two great minds think alike” comes into play as both guys spin onto their stomachs and use the other person to get up as they are now like two bulls, shoulder to shoulder with each other and neither man giving an inch. Faulk then shows great quickness is putting his leg behind those of Angelus and sweeping him to the floor, finally the two break contact with the hands and Faulk immediately tries to drop an elbow across the chest of Angelus, which is narrowly avoided by Angelus as the two, both on their bellies, roll onto their backs and both kip up to their feet at exactly the same time for another stand-off as they stare at one another, nodding heads. The fans show their appreciation for what they’ve just seen, it was aesthetically pleasing and the applauding of every fan into the arena shows they enjoyed what they’ve just seen.

Bobby Moroso: Whoa, that was cool!

Hugh Reynolds: Yes it was, these two men are impossible to separate right now; they’re just constantly on the same wavelength.

The two men soak in the atmosphere, which really is something unique as they come walking towards each other again, now they are nose to nose with each other, respect is growing between the two as the seconds pass, although they daren’t show that to one another. Angelus now slaps Faulk right in the face, which is not the best thing to do and Angelus realises he shouldn’t really have done that and quickly gets out of the ring before Faulk can do a thing, but it’s clever as Angelus has lured Faulk out into chasing him now as Angelus runs around the ring and slides back in, now as Faulk slides in, Angelus has already hit the ropes and comes charging back towards Faulk, but Faulk knew what Angelus was doing from the start and is able to hoist Angelus up into the air with a back bodydrop, sending Angelus into the canvas hard as he holds his lower back in some discomfort. Angelus is quick to get to his feet, unfortunately for him though, Faulk is quicker to pounce upon him as the Champ throws in a couple of stomps to his adversary, before helping him up to his feet, only to hit him with a couple more knife-edge chops, which has the number one contender backed up into the turnbuckle, with nowhere else to go. Faulk now climbs onto the second ropes with Angelus underneath him and Faulk starts to unload with right hands. The fans count along with every punch

Faulk plays to the fans, encouraging them to get louder before he delivers the tenth shot to the skull of Angelus, but he’s taking far to much time and Angelus shows how resourceful he is by grabbing Faulk around the legs and carrying him out from the turnbuckle, then falling back with him as Faulk’s head and neck just bounces right off the top ropes, his head almost snaps right off his body and the response from the fans is “Ohhhh” they know Faulk has to be in some distress from that manoeuvre. Angelus isn’t straight to his feet, he takes a while to shake off the cobwebs and recover from the onslaught of E.E. Faulk. As he gets up to his feet, Angelus sees Faulk is struggling, even with the assistance of the ring ropes, to get up. Angelus doesn’t help matter back walking up behind Faulk, picking him up and dropping him right onto his neck with not just a back drop, but a really high-angled one which has snapped necks before and it could claim another victim here as Faulk clenches his neck tightly. Angelus sees the chance for a pinfall here and goes for it…

Kickout! Faulk’s still breathing, so he’s still gonna be fighting and ain’t finished yet. Angelus is right up onto his feet and with Faulk almost on his feet too, Angelus comes running at Faulk, extends his fist and nails Faulk right in the face with the “Leap of Faith” which has the ref going crazy at him for a closed fist shot, although Angelus protests his innocence. The ref tells him not to do it again, but that goes through one ear and out the other with Angelus, who turns his attention back to Faulk. Angelus goes for the ARMBAR!!! But Faulk is able to roll out of it and Faulk charges at Angelus…Samoan Drop! Angelus took the wind right outta Faulk’s sails with that one and again Angelus goes for a cover…

Kickout! Close call, Faulk seems winded but he’s still fighting. Angelus picks him up and wraps his arm around the neck of Faulk “Call of the Fallen One” he shouts to the fans as he hoists Faulk up into the air…but Faulk is able to go over the top and counter the move, Faulk then dives at Angelus with a Strong Lariat, taking him down! Both men are on the mat, hurting and not moving for the moment. They start to get up around the same time and Angelus is the first to throw a punch, but it’s a wayward one which Faulk is able to counter with a right of his own, followed by another right, another right and then a backfist, which causes Angelus to drop to the floor. He’s not doing for long though as he swings at Faulk again, this time Faulk ducks and kicks him in the gut, following it up with a DDT! Faulk’s not done as he brings Angelus up quickly for another DDT, keeping ahold of Angelus, he brings him up again, this time a lot slower…DDT number 3! Repercussion!! Faulk isn’t going for the cover though, no, no, no, he’s going to end this. Angelus is struggling to recognise where he is, Faulk grabs his arm and pulls him in towards himself, he’s going for the E2Kutter…but Angelus is able to use what strength he has left to throw Faulk forward and block the finishing move, Faulk is on one knee, ANGELUS CHARGES…Call of the Fallen On-No!! Faulk manages to duck the foot of Angelus that was coming towards his head and in the process, manages to wrap an arm round the neck of Angelus, BREATHTAKER!! Angelus is in some trouble here, but Faulk can’t seem to get the hold locked in properly as Angelus has his hand between his throat and Faulk’s arm. Faulk then tries to hoist Angelus up into the air, which he’s able to do, but he over does it as Angelus somehow manages to adjust his body and flip over the shoulder of Faulk, Faulk spins around…C-2!! Angelus drilled him with the C-2!!! He covers…

Schumacher: Here is your winner…and a NNEEEWWWW UWE World Heavyweight Champion…Angelus!

Angelus did it! He’s the World Champion and has came full circle. The fans aren’t happy but that’s the way it is as Angelus stares at his newly won championship, with Faulk still on the mat after that hellacious move and fantastic counter. UWE goes off-air with Angelus holding the title.
